Leora Klingelhoets: This is an interesting question...Well, out of a first hand experience I tell you it is an amazing experience to study humanities... And it IS important in your personal life! It makes you think more flexibly, realize the existence of OTHER civilizations, peoples, cultures, customs and traditions, and even WAYS of lie and thinking... So, if you happen to meet some one with a different nationality, religious or whatsoever "other" belief you know how to respect him/her; because you are already a "cultured" person, who-through humanities- have known much about those OTHERS and thus has the ABILITY of opening up to other peoples, cultures or whatsoever without being afraid or narrow-minded. And even if you are not going to meet people of other places and nationalities: (i.e. "foreigners"), this will still help you acquire flexibility in thinking, you will be much more open-minded and could accept new changes so easily (because you have already got to know ! about them through this study) and you can provide amazing solutions for your friends and community!I believe that it IS a very important and amazing branch of study! :-)Also have a look at this: you may like it! ;-)http://www.bluffton.edu/~humanities/essayren.htmBest luck, friend! :-)...Show more
