Blair Abdi: Well, it's not much of field trip, but maybe take them for some field work in the grocery store? Give them a shopping list and see how cheaply they can find things, so they can review unit pricing, coupons, etc. I guess that might be more like home ec than personal finance though...Your local bank might be willing to give them a tour, especially if you can find a small, family-owned bank or credit union. If there are any investment offices or financial advisers around they might do the same thing, though accountant firms are usually pretty crazy in April (tax month) so they probably won't....Show more
